When divorce is to become a fact and not just a possibility, it is time to hire a Divorce Lawyer. Like cars, not all Attorneys’ are created equally and it is terribly important to do your homework before hiring anyone.
Often the ground work for finding and Attorney begins long before a couple finally definitively decide to exercise the option of divorce. One or both parties may have sought a telephone consultation with an Attorney as to various options, or may have accessed State or National legal websites pertaining to child custody law and the division of property. Get referrals
If possible, ask friends or co-workers who handled their divorce, and whether they were pleased with the outcome. Get at least three names, and briefly interview them by telephone.
